How to form the letter P
Capital P is a line down with one bump at the top. Lowercase p is a line that goes below the bottom guide, then a bump at the top.
What to watch for
Lowercase p drops below the line and q does too. p faces right, q faces left.
Words to say while tracing
Saying a word that starts with the shape, while the pencil is moving, links the letter to a sound instead of leaving it an abstract squiggle. Try pig, pen and penguin.
